This material can also be used as a head / bolster or as a spacer.
Pakka wood is a kind of multiplex of beech wood which is provided with a phenol resin under high pressure. This makes it a practical and impact-resistant material that is easy to machine (sawing, drilling, filing, milling and turning) and gluing it with, for example, 2 component glue.
Due to the partly synthetic composition we strongly recommend wearing respiratory protection during processing. Sawing, filing and sanding can release phenols that could pose a health hazard.
