Ceramic sharpening rod for Japanese knives SKS30
Ceramic is harder than the hardest steel type, with a ceramic attachment rod (or sharpening rod) it is easy to keep your knife sharp. We therefore recommend a ceramic sharpening rod for daily use.
PLEASE NOTE, regular sharpening steels are not suitable for Japanese knives, the steel is softer than the steel in Japanese knives, which means that sharpening is of no use. Only ceramic sharpening bars are suitable for hard steel in Japanese knives.

Knives that are really blunt or damaged cannot be sharpened with this sharpening rod since this rod is too fine for that. Preferably use a Japanese whetstone for this. The ceramic sharpening rods have no guarantee against breakage due to falls (there is no steel core in these rods.)
