American maple is a beautiful white wood with a white to creamy color that turns pale yellow when exposed to daylight. To prevent this discoloration, special varnishes and / or bleaching agents are used. There is little or no color difference between heartwood and sapwood of maple. In general, the wood has an even structure. Due to a fairly sharp delimitation of the growth rings, a fine stripe design can usually be observed on the quarter-hour surface and a modest flame pattern on the dosse surface. Characteristic are the small mirrors on the quarter-hour plane and the slightly silky sheen. Older trees may have a brownish core or dark brown streak. This also applies to the American soft maple which is about 25% softer than hard maple. The color of hard and soft maple strongly depends on place of origin.

Not colored. but becuase of the oil treatment the wood is darker then the natural dry wood.

This wood is stabilized (through and through) by treating the wood with vacuum extraction and pressure with a mixture of natural turpentine oil and Tung oil. After curing, this wood is highly resistant to moisture and other external influences.

The wood types offered here are well dried and without knots, brushes, spider mite and woodworm.

  • Approx. 130x40x25 mm
  • Maple works very little
