Oak is one of the best-known types of wood. In general, oak is strong and hard, but still relatively easy to work and finish.
European oak: This is the traditional oak wood, from which, among other things, classic oak furniture and statues are made. Not only furniture, but also doors, parquet, window frames and stairs as well as ships and lock doors were traditionally made of oak. Due to scarcity (and price), this is increasingly being replaced by other types. A wide variety of qualities can also be recognized within Europe, a distinction is made between Spessart oak, straight-grained and fine-year, French oak, harder and darker in color and the beautiful but rare Slavonian oak, great lengths, as a rule without knots or knots. .
Natural wood, not stabilized, not colored.
The types of wood offered here are well dried and free of sapwood and woodworm. The wood may contain some small knots and tassels, which is very nice on finished handles.
