The steel used in this knife is a Japanese steel alloy known as AUS8. This type of steel is enriched with molybdenum and vanadium, which make the knife resistant to corrosion and strokes. Moreover, it has 0.8% of carbon content (for the hardness of the blade) and 14.5% of chromium (for a better oxydation resistance).
Due to the rust-resistant type of steel, these knives are not sensitive to oxidation, so they do not require any extra care.
